Conventional saddles have a rigid tree the rider sits on.
For many horses the tree inhibits mobility as they move the shoulder &/or legs. The weight of the rider is never fully aligned, it constantly shifts forward through the tree. With TORSION® the rider is moving in harmony with the horse's natural gait creating balance, freedom of movement & comfort. If this is the feeling you want a TORSION® is for you.
Riding in a TORSION® for the first time is a different sensation.
The rider has a close contact feeling. The rider may use different muscles. The saddle facilitates better communication between the rider's mind & body to the horse, fostering a harmonious connection of 'one with the horse'. The horse too will need to adjust to the new feeling of freedom, finding her own balance & rhythm.
TORSION®is made by people who ride Endurance & love their horses and the sport.
They continually strive to create the best saddles for your horse & you. Saddles are put through rigorous testing before being sold to the public. Here at TORSION®-CANADA some models are ridden in before sold to the public.
In Italy the TORSION® has proven itself among top endurance riders as well as riders around the world.
Approved by the British Horse Society and American Riders.
WHEN?
The first treeless saddle originates in Italy.
The traditional art of riding without a tree began near the city of Grossetto. Treeless riding was first documented in a BARDELLA saddle over 1000 years ago by the BUTTERI riders, who are Italian Cowboys of long ago. Sergio Tommasi based his design of the TORSION® saddle on their BARDELLA saddle. The BORA saddle is Sergio's dream come true, his modern day version of the BARDELLA.

The Western rigging attaches to a large D-ring with a buckle system and billets are made from nylon. English billets are sewn securely to the saddle. The leather is reinforced and stitched for strength. The cinch straps & stirrup leathers are lined with biothane. Leather is available. The stirrup leathers attach to a D-ring which is connected to a large band of supportive cordura that sits under the seat, between the pommel to cantle. This disperses the rider's weight from the stirrup when sitting or standing.
A variety of sizes (13"for children to 19" in some models for adults.
If the rider fits a size 17" in other models then usually the rider will fit a 16" TORSION®. For correct sizing measure from the middle of the zipper at pommel to the middle of zipper on cantle. Correct seat size is important for the horse and yourself. For example: the rider does not want to sit on the cantle as the pressure can cause unwanted pressure through the foam onto the horse. Correct leg position equals balance and comfort.
Easy Clean up:
